Lil Wayneâs Tha Carter IV Has Officially Been Pushed Back
at 06:47 0 commentsAfter rumors this month of Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter IV album being pushed back from May 16th to June, it looks like they are true after all. Mack Maine has confirmed to XXL the new date for the album will be now June 21st.
Young Money president, Mack Maine, informed XXL that Weezyâs follow up to 2008âs multi-platinum selling Carter III LP will be hitting shelves on June 21. We also confirmed that the graduation photo of a pre-teenage Wayne, sporting his signature facial tattoos that leaked online earlier this week, as well, is the official cover art to the disc.

In a recent interview with MTV Newsâ Sway, Wayne once again explained Drakeâs absence and understood from the fanâs standpoint how his protégéâs omission from the tour looked from the outside, sympathizing with the speculative remarks of Young Money supporters. âThatâs just due to this world we live in today,â said the Young Money captain. âBecause I remember back in the days when if someone wasnât on tour then the first thing weâd think was they were doing a movie or they were doing something else that was productive.â
Wayne went on to add, âNowadays if you donât see somebody in the picture, then itâs âOh, heâs leavingâ and heâs this and âOh Wayne, youâre mad at this personâ and I donât even deal with it man. I just get my money and call the shots.â – MTV

Mack Maine Speaks On Tha Carter IV Push Back, The Cover & More
at 06:44 0 commentsIn the video above, Mack Maine speaks on Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter IV album cover, the reason why C4 was pushed back, and says Weezy has a “monster” single coming soon with a major group… but Mack would not tell us who the group is.
“It’s more along the lines of a ‘Lollipop,’ ” Mack told MTV News. “People call them crossover records and all of that, but it will be just one of those records that will be liked by the masses.”
While Mack wouldn’t reveal who the guest feature will be on the untitled single, he did say that he expects the news to be leaked prior to the song’s release. The YM prez also spoke on the decision to push back the album.
“He’s still perfecting a few things, he’s a perfectionist … changing a few lines,” Mack Maine said of Wayne’s recording process. “We also have a huge record that wasn’t done yet. We’re in L.A. right now. We have a little studio time and it should be done probably by Monday.” – MTV
